Aethor
Joolz
Joolz is a company that creates baby strollers and buggies. Their Joolz Aer model is and ultra light and compact traveling buggy that can be fitted with a baby seat or a basinet.
When the buggy is folded with the seat it was able to stand up on its own, however when the bassinet is intorduced this isn't possible due to the frame protruding past the support points of the buggy.
The Aethor is a bassinet with a sliding mechanism to shorten the bassinet when folded and enable the Joolz Aer to stand up when folded.

The Problem
Traveling with a baby can be a difficult experience, especially if you have a cluncky buggy. That's why Joolz designed the Joolz Aer, an ultra light travel buggy. When the seat is installed it folds down neadly and can stand on it's own. However, when the bassinet is introduced this is not possible anymore due to the bassinet frame protruding past the support points.
Ideation
Testing and Detailing
To transform our final idea into a concept I created a SolidWorks model which I then tested to see if the mechanism could withstand the pressure of parents leaning on the buggy.
Final Concept

Aethor
The Joolz Aethor can be pushed in and folded up in less than a minute.
This compact package can stand on its own and is easily stored, making it perfect for traveling with a little one.
